Little Girl Dies From Hanging Challenge on the Internet
Psychologists ask to forbid phones to children who are less than 14
This tragedy proves once again how dangerous the Internet is to children. As adults, we know how to make the difference between wrong and right. But they don’t.
In January, a tragedy happened in Italy — precisely, in the Sicilian town of Palermo.
A 10 years — old girl named Antonella died suffocated, after participating in a Tick Tock challenge.
The famous Tick Tock app challenge consisted of surviving a “contest” of proving one’s value.
Children, teenagers, and participants all over the world had to tye their necks and play a “game” of hanging themselves. Who would have lasted longer would have won.
It was supposed to be an act of courage, toughness, and resistance.
The problem is that children might lose their lives participating in these sorts of weird games.
This is exactly what happened to Antonella.
Tick Tock had declared they had never sensed any suspicious content that was threatening people’s life or had been aware of any message pushing to a blackout challenge (source: “La Stampa”).
