Why Do People Criticize So Much When They Don’t Even Know You?

A few months ago, I walked into my aunt’s shop, and she would comment on how much weight I put on, and what I was wearing that day.

She always had an obsession with my weight (which by the way, is and always was within normal standards).

I never commented about my aunt’s weight, clothes, appearance, if not in a positive way. That’s because I find kindness and politeness to be normal behavior, in a society.

It was the beginning of June.

I hadn’t visited my aunt for about a month. The weather wasn’t so warm, as June would normally be. So I had on a normal dress with a pair of white, transparent stockings. Pretty normal, if you would ask me.

My aunt gave me a weird glance.

Her comment to me was: “it’s not the season to wear stockings. You are probably the only one on earth to wear this right now”.

Here I was, this little Martian who just landed on Earth, with my nice shiny transparent — shocking! — stockings

I hadn’t asked for her opinion. I know she was tired of long hours spent at her work, but…
